I have a habit of becoming a recurring thought. Maybe I remind you of the girl from your calculus class you always meant to talk to; consider this your second chance. Engineer on paper, creative technologist in practice. I have a weakness for experimental art, electronic oddities, ephemera, dad rock, and falling headfirst into whatever has caught my attention lately. I’m always looking for a new fascination. I have a feeling I might find one in you. I contain multitudes, or at least conflicting plans for the evening. Dress me up for a multi-course dinner or hand me pizza in bed. Take me to a DJ set, an absurdly specific museum, the ballet—or introduce me to your favorite show and let’s disappear into it for the night. I can be a little awkward at first, especially if I like you. Once the nerves wear off, I’m warm, affectionate, quick-witted, and pleasantly unpredictable. I appreciate good banter, a little mischief, and the kind of chemistry that makes time disappear. Highly susceptible to a good infodump. I have an obvious soft spot for clever and curious gentlemen, but you don’t need an impressive résumé or a collection of obscure hobbies to catch my attention. Kindness, empathy, and genuine enthusiasm are much harder for me to resist. I really enjoy the familiarity that comes with seeing someone again; I have a good memory for the things you tell me and a tendency to wonder how they turned out. All this to say: don’t be shy.
